Riles
This TV commercial from the UP Alumni Association was made by Lyle Sacris, grandson of Dodong and Princess Nemenzo. It won the gold in the public service category of the recent Diwa Advertising Awards. It would be funny but for the painful reality of what our country is like today.

The song "Let Me Tell You Their Story" sears the viewer's very soul, and remains to haunt him: for is he not his brother's keeper?
Let met tell their story... that no one else can hear.
How can someone's laughter... bring me close to tears?
And you'll never know... cause you're never there.
After what we've seen... can we close our eyes again?
Let me tell their story... you won't think its true;
I have not forgotten... so I'm sharing it with you.
For all the things we know... what have we really learned?
Though I close my eyes... the images remain.
And their story... begins again...
Sa Kambas Ng Lipunan
Joey Velasco is a Filipino visual artist who dared to journey in a field, gingerly trodden by Filipino artists---religious art. His most notable piece is "Hapag ng Pag-asa" (Table of Hope), a recasting of the "Last Supper," where Christ shares a meal with hungry street urchins. In this video he recounts the individual stories of these street children -- and his own guilt feelings over his contribution to the indifference and neglect that have made people, especially the children suffer. And he tells about how he paints to atone for his sins of omission. And so he paints upon the canvas of society.
